In Mexico City, fun nights at iconic bars of the LGBTIQ+ community such as La Puri, El Marra, and Soberbia have been temporarily interrupted. This occurred after last Friday, January 17, the Ministry of Government carried out an operation in the neighborhoods Centro, Obrera, Doctores, and Santa María la Ribera, in the Cuauhtémoc municipality as part of the program 'La Noche es de Todos'.

The operation, conducted in response to citizen complaints, resulted in the suspension of five alcohol sales points, known as 'chelerías', including La Puri, El Marra, and Soberbia. Additionally, the closure of one of these establishments was reaffirmed with the replacement of seals by the competent authorities.

According to reports, the action was carried out peacefully and without incidents, in accordance with requests from residents of those neighborhoods who expressed their dissatisfaction due to the alleged non-compliance with regulations by these places.

The main objective of the operation was to verify compliance with civil protection measures and regulations on alcohol sales, in order to ensure safe and respectful environments for both residents and passersby in the intervened areas.

During the inspection, it was confirmed that the three closed establishments housed approximately two thousand people at one point, lacking the necessary safety and civil protection conditions for such a gathering.

The action involved units from the Ministry of Citizen Security, the Administrative Verification Institute, the Ministry of Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection, as well as agents from the Investigation Police.
